How much does it cost to register?
You can register for 1 year at $25.00 or $75.00 for 3 years inclusive of GST.

What does ACRS have to offer over other Registrars?

ACRS is affiliated with the National Electrical and Communications Association (NECA), which represents electrical and communications contractors, being the majority of employers of cablers in the electrotechnology sector.  This means cablers registered with ACRS benefit from the industry specific information that NECA can provide in regular updates and newsletters.

ACRS is the cheapest registration service, and offers a wide variety of options to apply - fax, email or post, as well as having shop fronts in most states to allow you to apply in person.

How do I register?
You will need to fully complete an application form, attach your payment details and provide a copy of your training records or training certificate stating which courses you have completed. You can download the application form, or we can email, fax or post you a form.

I have moved address, what do I need to do?
You can phone our administration centre on 1300 667 771 or download a change of details form and fax or post to ACRS or you can email to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it with you name, registration number, old address, new address and new contact phone numbers.

How can I pay?
ACRS accepts payment via cheque, money order, visa, mastercard, bankcard. Or you can pay by cash at one of our shop fronts. Please do not send cash in the post as ACRS cannot be responsible for missing payments.

What qualifications do I need?
You need to meet the current ACMA Competency requirements. This information can be emailed or faxed to you upon request.

I wish to become a registered cabler, where can I do the training?
A list of training providers (TAFE or registered training organisations) is in the Training and Assessment section of this website.


How do I add endorsements or upgrade from a Restricted to an Open registration?
You can add endorsements or upgrade your registration at the time of renewal at no extra cost. If you wish to add endorsement prior to your renewal a variation fee of $25.00 will apply.

How long do I have after my licence expires to renew it?
You have a 30 day grace period from the date your licence expired. Once the grace period is up you will need to contact the ACMA in writing requesting a "Dispensation Claim". Once you have received the Dispensation Claim from the ACMA you have 14 days to register.
